Join us starting at 6 p.m. for a potluck supper, a short worship service, and the lighting of the Vigil Fire on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Stay, return, or just get up early on Sunday for the 6:30 a.m. sunrise service.

Come for a few minutes or spend the whole night.  We keep the Vigil Fire burning overnight, taking turns tending the fire and contemplating the celebration of the resurrection.

His followers watched Jesus as He prayed on the Mount of Olives, was betrayed, was judged by those unworthy to judge Him, and died on the cross. But we know what Easter morning brings.  We know the stone has been rolled away.  So we can wait in great anticipation, in peace, and in joy.

We know Easter morning will resound with the shouts of, “He Is Alive!”

Sign-up for a shift around the fire.  Make sure it burns brightly through the night as a testimony to our anticipation. Be there as the sun rises and as we use the flame from the Vigil Fire to light our candles and our way to the Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m.

We need firewood.  Please drop it off next to the fire ring or call J.D. Baker at (760) 315-3636 for pickup.
