RAMONA, Calif.—Discount ride tickets for the inaugural Fall Festival at Ramona United Methodist Church (http://ramonaumc.org) go on sale today outside Albertsons and Stater Bros., RUMC announced. Tickets will be available at both stores from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 29 through Friday, Sept. 2, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 3.

The Fall Festival is Sept. 9, 10, and 11. Hours will be 4 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday, noon-10 p.m. Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. More than a dozen carnival rides, plus games, food and craft vendors, community displays, musical acts, and a chili cook-off will yield local residents and visitors hours of fun in the church’s front yard off Highway 67.

Entertainers will include pianist and vocalist Kevin Cavanaugh, who has appeared nationally on VH-1, plays locally in Escondido at The Tango Restaurant and will be debuting songs from his new CD, “Fly Me to the Moon.”

According to Carnival Entertainment, more than a dozen carnival rides will be set up along Highway 67, including a Ferris Wheel and thrill rides.

“For little kids, they’ll be the Dragon Wagon, Tubs of Fun, Bumble Bees, Slide, Bounce House,” Carnival said. “Brave youngsters will enjoy the Monster House and the Rockwall and Power Bungee.”

Admission is free. Discount ride ticket sales end 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6. Discount tickets are $12 for 20, a savings of nearly 30% compared to the regular price of $20 for 24 tickets.

Proceeds support RUMC’s local and global missions, including poverty relief, food and health programs and the Little People’s Learning Center, one of Ramona’s leading preschools. Update, Tuesday, Aug. 9: Discount pre-sale tickets now available at the Ramona Chamber of Commerce and Dynamic Discounts for $12 for 20 ride tickets — a nearly 30% savings. At the Festival, ride tickets will be $20 for 24 tickets; number of tickets required for each ride varies.

New Fall Festival at Highway 67 and Dye Road

RAMONA, Calif. (Aug. 2)—Ramona United Methodist Church (http://ramonaumc.org) and locally-owned Carnival Entertainment (http://partyrentalworld.com) are teaming up to create a landmark community event Sept. 9, 10, and 11 in the church front yard on Highway 67.

“The campus at RUMC is a remarkable community resource,” said the Rev. Steve Islander, RUMC pastor. “We’re thrilled to put it to use for local entertainment, arts and crafts, fellowship, and fun.”

The Fall Festival will feature carnival rides by Carnival Entertainment, games, food and craft vendors, community displays, musical acts, and a chili cook-off. Vendor applications are being accepted now and are available at http://www.ramonaumc.org/fall-festival/.

Discount presale tickets are available from RUMC members, by calling (760) 789-7106, and after worship services about 10:45 a.m. each Sunday. More opportunities to purchase tickets will be announced on RUMC’s web site, Facebook page, and Twitter stream. RUMC and the United Methodist Church, known for the tradition of “open hearts, open minds, open doors,” are working to “Rethink Church” to support more community engagement and advance the UMC’s global work to eradicate poverty and disease. Proceeds from the Fall Festival will support RUMC’s global and community church missions, including the Little People’s Learning Center, one of Ramona’s leading preschool and grade school summer program providers. LPLC families are also helping lead and organize the Fall Festival.
