- What We Do
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God; to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand the concept of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Meetings
- The RUMC Women’s Prayer Group meets at 6:30 a.m. every Thursday at the Ramona McDonald’s. We gather around a table to share a light breakfast. A Christian study is shared. We update our prayer list of concerns, both in our own family, our church family and in the world. We mention our joys and hopes and place all in God’s hands. We are on our way to work or home by 7:30 a.m. All are welcome.
- Friendship Circle meets the first Wednesday morning of each month at 10 a.m. at member’s homes. This circle meeting includes devotions, refreshments, and friendly conversation.
- RUMC Women meet on the fourth Monday of each month, September through June. Following a potluck meal or dessert and fellowship, the meeting agenda includes Biblical devotions, prayer, program, and reports. All women are invited. Childcare is available.
Missions
Local missions aid the Little People’s Learning Center, In His Steps, Adopt-A-Family at Christmas, Easter baskets for Head Start, prayer blankets and quilts for individuals in need, and Habitat for Humanity. National missions include the David & Margaret Home in Arcadia and help for hurricane victims. Worldwide missions are funded by “Fellowship of the Least Coin,” World Thank Offering, and individual member pledges.
Annual Retreat
The 2009 Ramona UMC Women’s Retreat was at Pine Valley Bible Conference Center, September 18-20. The theme was “The Wonderful Gift of Friendship” and our guest speaker was Charisse Williams.
